Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.

Christmas Movies?

Every Christmas eve myself and Sam spend time with my family. This usually involves a BBQ, presents, drinks, food and Christmas movies. This year Sam and I are trying to decide what Christmas movie to watch. At the moment its a toss-up between Home Alone, Santa Clause and The Grinch. But, I’m really not sure which one…

Help us decide. What Christmas movie should we watch on Christmas Eve? Feel free to suggest others too.

The Benjamin's!

Well another year is coming to a close. For us here in the southern hemisphere, the days are getting longer and things are starting to heat-up. Whilst anticipating the new year and reflecting on the year that was, I’ve been trying to think of ways I can celebrate all that was 2009. I’m considering composing a kind of “best of 2009 awards according to Benjamin.” You know, my picks for best album of the year, best song, best movie, biggest letdown.. all that jazz.

What do you think? I could call it “The Benjamin’s”.

The Otto Brothers - Many Waters

On Monday night I shot some promo photos for my good friend Billy and his brother’s new musical endeavor, The Otto Brothers. Although I can’t show you the photos yet, I’m completely and utterly stoked with how they came out. If you feel so inclined you should listen to the boys soon-to-be released single ‘Many Waters’. It’s not often I’ll rave about local music, especially if it’s a friends band. It must have something to do with the Australian, tall poppy syndrome that’s been ingrained in my blood over centuries. Never the less I love this song and their music! It’s warm, fresh and beautifully written. I hope you enjoy it too.

Passion Pit - Little Secrets (Live on Myspace Transmissions)

If I went to Big Day Out 2010 (which I’m not) these guys would be the sole reason. Side shows please?

The Middle East - Blood

I saw The Middle East play last night in Sydney. A Great night with some good mates, beers, pancakes, good music, washed-up Australian idol stars and a former Miss Universe Australia. I suppose Bondi is the place to be…. Who would have thought? Ha.

Anyway, this song was beautiful live.

Ask a Basterd...

Can I answer my cell during a movie if it seems urgent?
Never. It may be a brief interruption - just a few seconds - but what if someone sitting near you is trying to make a decent bootleg? Did you ever think of that? Now all those street-corner copies are permanently defiled by your so-called “emergency”. Don’t be so damn selfish.

Hey Sydneysiders!

I’m in the city until Thursday and I’m looking for things to do while I’m here.

Currently to do list;
Explore abandoned buildings; aka White Bay Power Station
Vinyl record shopping
Visit the Lomotography shop in Paddington
Get my laugh on at the Sydney comedy store in Fox studios.

Any other ideas?
