It’s going to be a good year…
On Sunday, I was fortunate enough to take a friend of mines band, One Vital Word out into the forest to shoot their promo material. We had a lot of fun hanging out all afternoon. The guys are hilarious and really down to earth! These are a few of the images from the shoot. It was actually my first band shoot and my first official shoot using studio lights, so I’m super stoked with the results!
The only down side about this shoot….
Yesterday I pulled a tick out of the side of my neck. I’ve had a headache and stiff neck from its poison ever since. I was told only dogs die from ticks. Lets hope so….

The Almost - Stop It
I just go new headphones. This was the first song I clicked on to test them out. It didn’t specially choose this song. I just click the first album and song my cursor was lying on. Anyway, I forgot how good this song was….
My good friend, fellow musician and all round epic dude, Mazy is finally on Tumblr everyone!!! If you know what’s good for you you’ll go follow him. I never give shout outs on tumblr, so when I do you know it’s important. Follow him, Do it.

“Sometimes, when we’re talking, my dad will stop, and sigh, and close his eyes.
It’s then that I know, that he knows. About my mum. About everything.”
Days with my Father is a photo journal by Phillip Toledano that documents the last days he spent with his father. A beautiful and heart-breaking compilation of photos and text taken after the death of Toledano’s mother that give an intimate and touching look at the father-son relationship and reality of dementia. Although very simple and sparse, the series captures a spectrum of emotion.
It’s not often that a photo-set like this will bring me to tears or evoke this kind of emotion from me. Phillips Toledano’s journal is truly beautiful. A must read for for fathers and sons.

He’s only 21, he’s Australian & he’s going to be the next big thing. Mark my words.
Two months ago I blogged about a soon to be released documentary called “I Am Eleven”, a film that focuses on global issues from the perspective of eleven year olds. Since then I’ve received several comments on that blog post from the films director Genevieve Bailey. Genevieve, a fellow Aussie, is obviously very passionate about global issues and of course children. But, more than that she is obviously hugely passionate about her film and spreading her message - so much so that she keeps in correspondence with a small-time blogger like myself. It’s really refreshing to see this kind of commitment from an individual & wonderful to feel so connected to this project. Without a doubt I can definitely say I’ll be heading along to an Australia screening when the documentary is finally released.
I want to suggest to all reading this - check out the films website, watch the trailer, join the mailing list and see the documentary when it’s released!
